Susan,
What an awesome story you have told! You are such a blessing, and your testimony will bring freedom and show God’s love to so many who feel lost, trapped, and depressed because of their circumstances. You have inspired us that it’s “OK” to talk about the “not so good stuff”, to show what God has done, and to glorify Jesus. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
May God continue to bless you every day!

Susan,
This was a wonderfully written story that depicted the life as a polygamist. I read the book as part of a book club I participate in and enjoyed the experience. During our meetings we had very thought provoking discussion, and we still continue to discuss the book even though we have moved on. We were even able to get a hold of the author to answer some of our questions, and she responded to us almost immediately. It was a wonderful experience from which I learned so much.

Susan,
After reading this book…All I can say is wow! I feel as if I just received a historical lesson on the life of woman living in a polygamist family. Susan Schmidt did an excellent job with educating the reader about life as a sister wife in polygamy. Often the media paints a picture of women living this life as happy, participants who have little to no feeling or concern about having to share a husband. However, in this story, Ms. Schmidt very candidly demonstrated that these women were in fact human, with real feelings that were hurt and often felt betrayed by the men they shared. They were smart and very much like any woman next door. As a child, I saw Ms. Schmidt as a woman mature far beyond her years and at the conclusion of the story my views were only strengthen. I found what I always enjoyed about reading a good story; it has spawned my interest in the subject matter and instilled in me a quest to learn more. Even more fascinating about this very profound book was that she personally addressed the questions that intrigued me and the members of my book club that we asked during our discussion. Thank you for your story and the courage to share it! Awesome!
